What happens on the day
Your instructor starts with a short briefing on the equipment, a few hand signals and how to equalise your ears. Then you try the basic skills in calm, shallow water until you feel at home.
The second dive is a guided reef dive, no deeper than 12 metres, among the corals and fish that make Koh Tao famous. Your instructor stays right beside you the whole time.

Questions
Do I need to be a strong swimmer?
No. You should be comfortable in the water, but Try Scuba has no swim test. The full Open Water course does (a 200 m swim and a 10-minute float).
Is it safe?
Yes. You stay within 12 m and your instructor is right beside you throughout. Tell us about any medical conditions before the day.
Can I continue to Open Water afterwards?
Yes, many people start with Try Scuba. Ask us in chat and we'll plan the next steps with you.
What should I bring?
Swimwear, a towel and sunscreen (reef-safe if you can). We provide all the dive gear.
