Good questions
Do I need any experience?
No. Try Scuba and the Open Water course start from zero. You should be comfortable in water: the Open Water course includes a 200 m swim (any stroke, not timed) and a 10-minute float.
Is it hard to learn to scuba dive?
It is one of the easiest active sports to learn. Underwater you are mostly floating, kicking and breathing, and your instructor teaches the equipment and safety skills step by step.
Can children dive?
Yes. Junior Explorer starts at age 8, and the (Junior) Open Water course at age 10.
Do I need a medical certificate?
Only if you answer “yes” to a question on the diver medical form. Clinics on Koh Tao can check you and issue a clearance.
Can I dive if I wear glasses?
Yes. Dive in contact lenses (daily disposables are best) or use a prescription mask. We have a few at the shop, or you can bring your own.
Does it matter whether I learn with SSI or PADI?
Both follow the same international standards (WRSTC), so an SSI certification is recognized at dive centers worldwide, PADI shops included.
Where are you, and do you pick up?
We are in Mae Haad, a short walk from the ferry pier. Pick-up and drop-off from your accommodation is included on courses.
How do I pay?
A deposit holds your spot and the balance is paid at the shop. Our team explains the options in chat.
